Job Description
- Provide consecutive interpretation between Laotian and English speakers via telephone or video calls, as needed.
- Process information efficiently, ensuring clear and concise communication.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times.
- Use industry-specific terminology and follow common practices in relevant fields.
- Handle a variety of calls, ranging from simple to complex, covering both technical and non-technical topics.
- Interpret for sectors including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, Emergency Services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
Job Requirements
- Native fluency in English and Laotian, with advanced understanding of cultural dynamics, idiomatic expressions, and industry terminology (medical and other sectors).
- Minimum high school education, with preferred background in languages, translation/interpretation, or healthcare-related fields.
- Verifiable medical interpreter certification is an added advantage.
- Hiring process includes written and audio language assessments.
- Ability to remain stationary, and operate a computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse throughout the scheduled shift without significant difficulty or fatigue.
