Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Automation Engineer to join our growing team in Shah Alam. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, programming, and maintaining automation systems that improve production efficiency and reliability. If you enjoy hands-on engineering work, problem-solving, and working with modern industrial automation technologies, this role is for you.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical, instrumentation, and automation solutions for projects.
• Develop and maintain PLC programs and HMI/SCADA graphics according to project specifications.
• Perform internal hardware and software integration testing, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Carry out system testing, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at customer locations.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting for electrical wiring, control systems, and automation programs.
• Support additional engineering tasks as assigned by the Manager.

Job Requirements

Education

•  Diploma or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

 

Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in relevant industry.

 

Skills & Attributes

• Strong knowledge of IEC 61131-3 PLC programming standards (Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text).
• Hands-on experience with PLC systems, drive systems, and HMI programming.
• Familiarity with Siemens PLC platforms is a strong advantage.
• Ability to read, understand, and produce electrical drawings.
• Solid understanding of process control and industrial automation using PLC and SCADA/HMI systems.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.

Work Location: On-site (Shah Alam)
Travel Requirement: Willing to travel outstation/overseas, if required.
