Job Description

The Solution Architect – Vendor Management acts as the primary technical authority and design owner for the organization’s AI-powered SaaS platform. This role is responsible for shaping the overall system architecture, ensuring seamless integration across components, and managing technical delivery from multiple external vendors. The position ensures that all solutions align with the company’s strategic goals, technical standards, and scalability roadmap.

Serving as the bridge between business leaders, vendor engineering teams, and compliance stakeholders, the Solution Architect safeguards the platform’s architectural integrity, security, and performance from MVP through future growth phases.

 

Architectural Ownership

• Design, document, and maintain the end-to-end architecture, covering frontend, backend, AI/ML, and integration layers.
• Ensure all systems are modular, scalable, and cloud-native, following GCP best practices.
• Approve technology stack choices, API structures, and data models proposed by vendors.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and system maps.
   

Vendor Technical Oversight

• Act as the technical lead and reviewer for all vendor engineering teams.
• Conduct design and architecture reviews to confirm performance, scalability, and security standards.
• Ensure compliance with integration protocols, coding standards, and deployment methodologies.
• Coordinate technical discussions to guarantee smooth collaboration across vendor teams.
   

Integration & API Management

• Define and govern API contracts, data schemas, and communication protocols between vendor systems.
• Review and approve API documentation, specifications, and testing processes.
• Safeguard backward compatibility and enforce version control in a multi-vendor setup.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of technical integration or data mapping issues.
   

Security & Compliance

• Partner with the Security & Compliance Officer to uphold ISO 27001, ISO 27018, and GDPR standards.
• Validate vendor practices in encryption, access management, and tenant isolation.
• Support security audits, data protection assessments, and incident response initiatives.
   

Performance & Scalability

• Define and monitor key performance metrics such as system speed, uptime, and response times.
• Ensure architectural designs are resilient, elastic, and optimized for GCP environments.
• Review DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for security, efficiency, and compliance.
   

Change Management & Roadmap Continuity

• Assess the technical implications of new business requirements or system changes.
• Ensure the MVP architecture accommodates future AI/LLM capabilities and advanced analytics.
• Maintain architectural consistency during vendor changes and scaling activities.
   

Technical Leadership & Communication

• Provide direction and guidance to internal and vendor technical teams.
• Explain complex technical matters clearly to business and non-technical stakeholders.
• Serve as the escalation point for all architecture-related issues.
• Present regular updates and reports on architectural progress to executives.

 

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in solution or software architecture roles, preferably in data-intensive or AI-driven environments.
• Proven track record in managing external software vendors or distributed technical teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Backend: Node.js, Python
  • Frontend: React (or similar frameworks)
  • Database: PostgreSQL, NoSQL
  • Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure
  • DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of structured data frameworks (e.g., schema.org, JSON-LD), data governance, and AI/ML integration.
